I’m trying to have the students spin a length of yarn and we started from the beginning – kind of. I taught how to pick the locks of wool into a cloud of fleece, then I carded the fleece (of course adding dyed and picked wool). I changed a little bit of how and where we spin and it worked out fantastic. More pictures to follow on that process. Majority of the students accomplished the task. yeah! The next round will be more fun, because we’ll add alpaca fiber to the sheep’s fleece. Alpaca by it’s self is very hard to spin if you are a beginner.
