Kente Cloth is woven in narrow strips. I came up with the idea that we could draw three narrow strips and color with the repeated pattern in mind. When done, the strips were cut apart and with a zig zag stitch on the sewing machine I sewed and sewed and sewed . . . 😉
It was fun was sorting out the strips and combining three different students work, then sewing the three strips together. This made a larger piece of ‘woven cloth’, so they’d have ‘woven cloth’ from two friends plus one of their own .
