Sunflower Garden and Art Club – 2026

We’ll meet Tuesdays 9-10am during the ‘summer’ starting June 9.

A bit of gardening and a bit of art.

Bring your love for being outside:
-digging in the dirt
-watching birds, bugs and butterflies
-drawing nature around you
-painting colors you see
-just being creative

June 9

The weather wasn’t great. Looked like rain. We got started cleaning out the first bed and really dug it out. Place cardboard under all the pots around the perimeter of the garden. While we were working so hard it started sprinkling and then it just rained. We didn’t have any reason to stay to draw and just enjoy what got done.

June 16

Totally different weather today. We did some transplanting, squash and beans planted. A few of us enjoyed drawing outside with a choice of what we wanted to focus on. Wonderful start to the day.

June 23

A little bit of gardening, transplanting, a lot of watering and a bit of drawing. (Didn’t get pics of our drawing time)

June 30

Kind of a sprinkle/rainy morning. Hung out just a little bit and went home. Worms were easy to dig up and giggle about.

July 7

Wonderful sunny day. We did a bit of gardening – watering, pulling grasses, continuing to pull out mint!, and planted cucumber starts(Barb dropped by with healthy starts). Then we got our art supplies. The subject is shadow drawing. It’s an outline drawing of Bee Balm and then finishing the art piece with paint and/or more drawing.
